About AVA Development Society
Background of AVA Development Society
AVA Development Society is committed to serving poor, marginalized, oppressed and disadvantaged communities through social development, awareness, empowerment and humanitarian initiatives.
Serving Rural Communities Since 2001
AVA Development Society was established in January 2001 by a group of enthusiastic, energetic and socially committed young people to support needy and vulnerable communities.
Background of the Organization
Bangladesh faces poverty due to overpopulation, unemployment, lack of education and awareness, and socio-political injustice. These issues have created difficult socio-economic conditions for many people across the country.
Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions are comparatively poorer than many other divisions. People in these areas often suffer from natural calamities such as drought, flood, heavy rainfall, river erosion and common diseases. As a result, illiteracy, unemployment, malnutrition and lack of awareness are common problems.
Women and children are also highly vulnerable due to social malpractice, abuse, trafficking, child labour and poor living standards. Observing these realities, AVA Development Society began its journey to serve the poor and marginalized people of rural Bangladesh.
Nature of the Organization
AVA Development Society is a national, non-political, non-profitable, non-government, voluntary and social organization working for the service of poor communities in rural areas of Bangladesh.
